Release Date:

2021-07-16

Author:

With many countries around the world striving to revitalise their manufacturing sectors and a wave of smart manufacturing emerging domestically, the implementation of technologies such as Industry 4.0, the Industrial Internet, the Internet of Things and cloud computing has become a key driver for advancing the ‘Made in China 2025’ initiative and driving the transformation of the injection moulding industry. At present, domestic injection moulding manufacturers are facing significant pressures: rising labour costs, overcapacity and intensifying industry competition, compounded by ever-increasing demand for customised solutions from customers. The industry urgently needs to break free from the cycle of low-price competition and forge a differentiated competitive advantage. At the same time, factories are generally struggling with recruitment difficulties and a shortage of specialised technical personnel, whilst there is a strong demand to reduce costs and improve efficiency; accelerating the development of smart factories has thus become an urgent necessity for the industry. Many manufacturing enterprises have already implemented smart factory transformation initiatives, relying on digitalisation and intelligent technologies to resolve the pain points of traditional production.

In recent years, the upsurge of smart manufacturing has swept across China, and major economies around the world are vigorously promoting the revival of the manufacturing industry, and many outstanding manufacturing companies have carried out smart factory construction practices. Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet, Internet of Things, cloud computing and other crazes have become the most important measures to promote the "Made in China 2025" national strategy, including the transformation of enterprises in the injection molding industry.

First of all, we must understand that my country's injection molding industry manufacturing companies are facing tremendous pressure for transformation. Factors such as rapid increase in labor costs, overcapacity, fierce competition, and ever-increasing individual needs of customers have forced injection molding companies to shift from low-cost competition strategies to establishing differentiated competitive advantages. At the factory level, injection molding companies are facing tremendous pressure from recruitment difficulties and lack of professional technicians. They must reduce staff and increase efficiency, and there is an urgent need to promote the construction of smart factories.
